Our Gabion kits use 5mm welded, hot dip galvanised steel mesh in a 50mm x 50mm grid. This gives you 45% more steel than a further spaced apart 75mm x 75mm grid, which adds substantially to the overall strength. This will minimise the chance of "bulging" which is often seen in weaker baskets. All edges are bound together using spiral joiners which form two passes within each 50mm opening - again to double the strength.
